The LPKF Presto™ is a laser system for the research and development of photovoltaics. It structures thin-film solar cells on CdTe, aSi/µSi and CIS reliably, precisely and quickly. All processing parameters can be smoothly transferred to production with the LPKF Allegro™ series. Similar to the full-scale Allegro™ production systems - LPKF Presto™ combines all of the technical advantages in a compact design.
The system provides the greatest flexibility. It can be equipped with different laser sources (355, 532 and 1064 nm), optical configurations as well as a mechanical scribing head.
The special design allows the processing of substrates either through the glass or from the film side. An automatic focus feature is also available. Extraction nozzles on both sides of the substrate remove the scribing products. Particles are removed from the exhaust in a filtration unit.
LPKF Presto™ works with axis speeds of up to 2 m/s on substrates with a thickness of up to 6 millimeters. An integrated optical recognition system allows the coordinates of the P1 pattern to determine the optimum path for P2/P3 scribing, as well as to perform an optical inspection of the scribing quality.
